Let me out into the light
that washes away the darkened night
The skies open and welcoming
each whispered breath falling from your lips
I find sweet on my tongue and yet bitter on my fingertips
Let me out into the light
bring me back into your faithful plight
I see the struggle
I can wade through the mess
A broken down pickup
rusted and smashed
Tucked away in the corner lot
Forgotten and undressed
Let me out into the light
smother me in the kisses of your gaze that is bright
the vast land
of your painfully small mind
will give me comfort
like pocket change discovered beneath the lint
Let me out into the light
to hold your hand and be alright.
I can forget
I can move along
I can close the door
and pretend nothing's wrong.
I love finding pocket chain beneath lint!
ReplyDeleteKinda feeling more like lint today, though.
Send some of that precious light my way, friend. :)
